abstract = "The aim of this study was to perform a thematic classification of
                         pedological classes with soil hydro-physical-thermodynamic
properties for the south of the Ep{\'{\i}}rito Santo state. The
first stage of the research consisted of acquiring a Digital
Elevation Model - MDE and products derived from it, as well as
climatic variables related to pedogenesis. The dimensionality of
the data was reduced with multivariate analysis techniques. The
second stage was based on the unsupervised classification by
IsoData and Maximum Likelihood. Products that characterize edaphic
classes with distinct hydro-physical properties has been of great
importance in the use of hydrological models, among other
purposes. It should be emphasized that the design of the soil
pedological landscape classes did not follow the usual soil
classification. The idea was to delimit unnamed areas with similar
                         hydro-physical-thermodynamic characteristics. This was certainly
achieved since there was an intrinsic correlation of the final
variables selected with these properties, linked to the following
physical processes: lateral flow gradient and acceleration toward
water bodies, local climatic gradient, water flow convergence and
divergence, soil water content, energy potential, soil moisture
spatial distribution, saturation zone prediction, and lateral
flows subsurface acceleration by the relief slope gradient. By the
proposed classification, it was obtained 7 landscapes classes
representative of the soil properties concerning the hydraulic and
                         thermal characteristics.",
